We are pleased to offer internationally recognized ISSA skipper training programs designed for both sailing and powerboat enthusiasts. Our courses combine structured theory with hands-on practical training, ensuring students gain the confidence, competence, and certification required to safely operate vessels in coastal and inland waters. Whether you are starting your journey as a skipper or enhancing your professional qualifications, our ISSA-certified courses meet global maritime standards.
ISSA Inshore Skipper is designed for individuals who wish to skipper a sailing yacht in coastal waters with confidence and competence. This course provides a strong foundation in both theoretical knowledge and practical seamanship skills required to safely command a yacht.
Participants will learn coastal navigation, rules of the road, weather interpretation, safety procedures, passage planning, and yacht handling techniques. Practical training focuses on sail handling, maneuvering, anchoring, berthing, and crew management.
Upon successful completion, candidates are qualified to skipper a sailing yacht up to 24 meters in length, operating within 20 nautical miles from the coastline in moderate weather conditions. Graduates of this course are also eligible to progress to the ISSA Offshore Skipper qualification.
The ISSA Short Range Operator Certificate (VHF / SRC) course equips participants with the essential knowledge and skills required to operate marine VHF radio equipment safely and correctly. This includes standard voice communication procedures as well as the use of DSC and GMDSS systems where applicable.
The course covers international marine communication regulations, distress and emergency procedures, routine and safety communications, and correct radio operating practices. Emphasis is placed on real-world scenarios to ensure confident and compliant radio use on board leisure vessels.
ISSA VHF Marine Radio licenses are internationally recognized and widely accepted by marine authorities and insurance providers. The certification confirms the holder’s competence to operate marine radio equipment in the GMDSS Sea Area A1, making it an essential qualification for skippers and crew operating vessels up to 24 meters in length.
The ISSA Inland Power Yacht Skipper course is intended for those who wish to skipper small power-driven vessels on inland and sheltered waters. This program combines practical boat-handling training with essential theoretical instruction tailored to inland navigation environments.
Students will learn inland navigation techniques, safety regulations, vessel handling, maneuvering in confined spaces, basic engine knowledge, and crew management. Practical sessions focus on docking, turning, speed control, emergency procedures, and safe operation in canals, rivers, and lakes.
By the end of the course, participants will be capable of planning and executing short passages safely, operating power yachts responsibly, and managing both vessel and crew within the limits of inland waterways.
